While I completely understood and agreed with Reid's actions, I was also kind of giddy that Luke could not stay away!!!! He just couldn't not go to Reid. I didn't get the impression that it was for an ego boost, either, but because Reid does fills a need him in that he doesn't get anywhere else, but, of course Reid was right to kick him out. I was thrilled with it all, frankly.
