Okay, so I don't know where you stopped but there was a potential threesome storyline between Noah, his teacher, and Luke. Luke was jealous because teacher guy had a lot of innuendo when it came to Noah. They got into an argument (one of many), Noah's fireworks for his film blew up in Noah's face, and Noah became blind. Noah blamed Luke for his being blind because he was distracted by their argument.
This one act started months and months and months of arguing, irritating behavior on Noah's part despite Luke doing everything that he could to restore Noah's sight. Luke sent Noah to a rehab that would help Noah adjust to being blind. Luke found this neurosurgeon from Dallas that had a high rate of restoring vision and had a reputation for being awesome.
Doctor rolls into town and he and Luke hate each other immediately. Luke intentionally kept him in town so that he can take on Noah as a patient. Luke did everything he could to help Noah. Noah didn't seem all that grateful and was still angry at Luke. Noah didn't like how Luke helped him with almost everything and ... more arguments ensued. They broke up.
Doctor and Luke got closer. Doctor is completely understanding of Luke and his relationship with Noah. Dr. Reid and Luke have amazing chemistry together and now Luke is feeling guilty for kissing Reid while Noah's in this coma. Something happened when Dr. Oliver operated on him and now they're waiting to see if he has brain damage when he wakes up but Luke is feeling guilty for moving on with Reid while Noah's still in a coma.
